2. What were your biggest fears or concerns when you started the process?

One of the biggest challenges I faced was navigating the world of professional networking and outreach. As an engineer, my natural tendency was to focus on problem-solving and technical execution. But the EB-1 journey demanded that I also become a storyteller–that I learn to articulate not just what I have done, but why it matters, and how it contributes to the broader landscape of innovation.

Networking, initially, felt foreign and even frustrating. Opportunities didn’t always come knocking. I had to proactively knock on doors, sometimes repeatedly with no immediate results. I applied to speak at events and faced rejections. I reached out to industry leaders who didn’t respond. But through it all, I refused to give up.

Eventually, the tides began to turn. I was invited to judge prestigious hackathons. I received offers to be a key speaker at conferences. My contributions started being recognized and discussed in industry circles. Each “yes” was the result of ten previous “no’s.” But the persistence paid off.

5. What advice would you give to other potential EB-1 (or EB-2) clients?

The most important piece of advice I can give is, “Don’t chase EB-1, but chase excellence.” The EB-1 should be a by-product of the impactful work you are already doing, not the sole reason you are doing it.

Start by identifying your niche–your unique zone of genius where your passion and skill intersect. Invest deeply in that. Master it. Build a body of work that speaks for itself. The recognition, the invitations, the visibility–all of that will follow if your contributions are real and meaningful.

Also, don’t underestimate the power of outreach. Your work deserves to be seen. Make the effort to share it with the world through conferences, panels, memberships, or collaborative projects. Visibility is not vanity–it's validation in the EB-1 world.
